Branch change 2014 – CUSAT CAT 2013 Applicants

Guidelines

  1. Category change / Branch change / College change is applicable only for students of 2013 admissions studying in SOE and CUCEK.

  2. Students admitted in 2013 through NRI spot admissions are not eligible for this branch change.

  3. There will also be a category change in the same branch from NRI  Payment → Free.

  4. Candidates who wish to change the category (NRI, Payment or Free) in the same branch should also apply along with the Branch Change / College Change Application.

  5. Candidates who have not applied for category change Branch change/College change as per this circular will not be considered for any type of up-gradation.

  6. All the options are allowed only on based on the CAT rank and community / caste / quota of the candidates who have applied for it, subject to the availability of vacancy in the concerned branch / college of his/her options.

  7. Only Keralite students will be considered for the free seat while allowing the category change / branch change./ college change.

  8. All vacancies at the end of closing of admissions 2013 are only in GEN Payment / NRI category only. The vacancies created after the closing of admission will remain in the respective quota only. However, KSC/KST vacancies will be in the payment category of the respective reservation category.

  9. Any vacancy arising during the process will be given to the respective category only. How ever if there is no eligible applicant for the reservation category vacancy, the seat will be converted to General Payment Category.

  10. KSC/KST vacancies generated during the process will be filled by transferring the eligible candidate belonging to the respective category only.

  11. NRI category seats will not be converted to General Payment before or during the process.

  12. Changes in the fees, if any, shall have prospective effect only. There shall not be any refund of fee / deposit paid in any case of transfer. The fees applicable to the category to which the student is transferred will only be charged from the student from the third semester onwards.

  13. Candidates transferred to NRI seat should pay the NRI refundable deposit (Rs.1,25,000/–) at the beginning of the third semester and the fee applicable to the NRI quota.

  14. Category change / Branch change / College change is subject to the probable vacancies which are likely to occur at the end of I&II semester. During the process vacancies can be created in some branches other than those existing at the beginning. Hence, candidates can choose any branch of his/her options for the process from the list of B.Tech programmes offered in SOE and CUCEK.

  15. The printout of the online applications, should be submitted along with a self attested copy of their admission card and Identity Card to the Principal of the School/College concerned on or before 28 / 04 / 2014

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES 

  1. The students who wish to apply for the Category change / Branch change / College change must register online in the websitehttp://options.cusat.ac.in/branchchange2014/ using their Register Number and Roll No of CAT 2013.

  2. The website will be open from 08 / 04 / 2014 10.00 Hrs to 25 / 04 / 2014 15.00 Hrs.

  3. Students can register maximum upto six options in the application form.

  4. The options which are not applicable to the students will be removed on verification. Applications submitted by students who are not eligible for this branch change will be rejected summarily.

  5. After registering their options, a printout of the same may be taken and submitted to the Principal along with a self attested copy of their CAT 2013 admit card and identity card on or before 28 / 04/ 2014

  6. The students are allowed to change their options at any time till the last date in the website. However the options in the hard copy received in this office through the Principal will be considered as final.

  7. The students should submit only one application form to the office of the Principal. If more than one form is submitted, the latest application submitted by the candidate, duly recommended by the Principal will only be considered.
