K S Beena, professor of Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), has been selected for the Endeavour Scholarship – 2015 by the Australian Government.
She will be doing research at the Research Centre for Geo-mechanics and Railway Engineering (GRE) at the University of Wollongong for six months, for which all expenses will be met by the Australian Government.
A native of Manacaud in Thiruvananthapuram, Beena is married to Kerala Value Added Taxes Appellate Tribunal member S Venugopal. This year, a total of 60 Indian researchers have been selected under the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships Programme to use Australia’s research infrastructure.
