CUSAT students leak result again

The students of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) have once again proved their ‘tech-savvyness’ by hacking the varsity’s official website in a bid to leak the examination results.

With this, many students came to know the results and marks of the B.Tech fifth semester examination held in last November before official announcement. They have also spread the results through social media.

Last year also, the students had leaked the results weeks ahead of the official announcement. The university authorities came to know about the incident only when a section of students and parents complained about it. That time, the university had said the results were leaked due to issues of the software, which was designed by a Hyderabad-based company.

Large number of students and parents are concerned about the leaking of the data, which has to be kept highly confidential. They fear that the students who can hack the site can also make changes in it.

They allege that the varsity has not taken any step to stop such illegal activities.

Meanwhile, Cusat Controller of Examination said the varsity has taken preventive measures to stop such bids.
