KOCHI: Success in software engineering can be achieved only through specialization in specific areas, said P J Narayanan, Director, IIIT, Hyderabad. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the seminar on software engineering organized by the department of Computer Science, Cochin University of Science and Technology.
“The capability and mental fortitude to do the unexpected will be of immense support to those in this field. The setting up of a software company or earning money does not spell success. The secret of success in software engineering is continuous and advanced training programmes”, he said.
Cusat vice-chancellor Ramachandran Thekkedath who presided over the inaugural function opined that the diversity in projects undertaken makes a software professional complete. Cusat syndicate member K A Zakkariya and Computer Society of India, Kochi chapter, chairman M G Biju, offered felicitations. Department of Computer Science head, Sumam Mary Idicula, welcomed the gathering and faculty G Santhosh Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
